Priority Schools Initiative Advocacy | Youth Unlimited
This is an advocacy video for a Youth Unlimited Program in the Jane & Finch area called Hoop 2 Hope. The concern expressed in this video is to show why the Priority Schools Initiative is important. The program allows community groups to use schools such as Westview in high-risk neighbourhoods for their programs. With the present Ontario government the program has been revoked, this video is show the need to be concerned about this issue.

This production was definitely fulfilling to create. We at BIGSIX MEDIA, love working with non-profits. The footage was gathered over a span of close to year. We really wanted to showcase the depth of this outreach program for the at risk youth in Jane & Finch. Grassroots organizations and programs like Hoop 2 Hope; need more attention and highlighting. We were definitely happy to have the opportunity to do just that!
This Production was shot on the Nikon D5500 DSLR with the Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens . The it was mainly a run n’ gun shoot so we used a shoulder rig for a majority of the shots. Since the production took place outdoors at times indoors there was plenty of available lighting. The only issue was that because we didn’t use any ND filters we have to use a high f-stop (aperture) for a well exposed image. All in all it was a really good shoot.
